About the Job
Position Objective:
- Axiom is seeking an IT Systems Administrator II to support the Center for Satellite Applications and Research task within NESDIS at NOAA.
Job Description:
- Assist in prioritizing projects and tasks.
- Monitoring the IT helpdesk and coordinating ticket resolution.
- Ensuring Puppet configuration automation of Linux bare metal and virtual servers.
- Assist in managing software development tools in Linux environment.
- Supporting cloud migration projects when requested.
- Supporting installation of Operating Systems to CentOS Stream 9
- Helping support Information System Security Officer ensuring secure baselines are enforced.
- Providing Tier 1 Linux support.
Qualifications:
- 2+ year Linux Systems Administration (RedHat/CentOS experience preferred).
- BS/BA degree Preferred
- A clear communicator who can speak to different clients about their problems/issues, capture the essence of the problem and quickly solve the issues while communicating clearly with clients regarding the underlying issues.
- Familiarity with Secure Baselines (e.g. STIG).
- Ability to script (e.g. bash, python, ruby, or perl).
- Virtualization or container experience a plus (VM, AWS, Docker, GPE, Kubernetes).
- NFS experience.
- Ability to track down and diagnose root causes of network, system, and user-level issues.
- Puppet configuration automation experience.
- git revision control system experience.
- Experience with Hardware RAID.
- Cloud migration experience.
- CI/CD automation.
