Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist II provides escalated technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware and manages IT infrastructure changes and other IT support projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist IT Support Specialist I by providing leadership and Tier II technical support and directly responds and updates IT service requests as needed.
- Assist with the Implementation of new software/hardware and maintenance of existing infrastructure, both physical and some networking.
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers in the organization at all locations to help develop solutions or recommendations that better accomplish necessary tasks.
- Maintain a standard image for machines and assist with patching necessary updates and software fixes.
- Take lead in investigating software/hardware issues to determine what route should be followed to correct the issue and/or if further resources will be needed. This may include working more closely with product vendors when necessary.
- Provide onsite and remote support to end users.
- Provide IT project direction to end users at HSPPR when implementing new systems/software/projects.
- Provides leadership to IT Support Specialist I and to other end users at HSPPR.
- Serves as the backup for the IT Manager during their absence.
- Will require some on-call responsibilities

Physical Demands
• Regularly sits at computer station.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of forty pounds with reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time.
• Typically stands, bends, stoops and crouches.
• Consistently exposed to animals in the workplace and animal allergens under conditions with limited alternatives available.
• Periodically drives a HSPPR Vehicle to perform duties
Schedule Requirements
- Schedule may include weekend and holiday work and some on-call responsibilities
Education/Experience Necessary
• Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years help desk experience preferred.
• Technical certifications are a plus.
• Attention to detail while being able to prioritize and multitask, and has the ability to adapt to changes.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Windows 10/11 and Microsoft suite.
• Familiarity with Hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of network aspects such as but not limited to LAN/WAN, ports, IPs and server knowledge.
