Title: Computer Support Associate IILocation: 4301 Evans to Lock Road Evans GA USA 30809Interview: WebExDescription:Major Purpose:Provides day-to-day operational support for a computingenvironment (computer center, unit computing, a community of users, etc.), inorder to contribute to the smooth running of that environment. Procedures aregenerally well-established. Support activities generally require a good, basictechnical background while also being fairly administrative in nature.Performs/monitors processes or operations that are reasonably stable and/orwhich often require choices between several options. TYPICAL EXAMPLES:--monitoring mainframe job network and restarting/making decisions frompre-defined choices to resolve problems Is limited in breadth, depth, and/orfrequency of interaction with external contacts. Major Duties:? Documentsrecording and/or distributing information. Has limited breadth, depth and/orfrequency of interaction with external contacts. Typical examples includelogging statistics on process completion, reporting problems, updating data,maintaining documentation or procedures, distributing reports. ? Maintainsequipment, supplies, data supporting processes or operations. Typical examplesinclude scheduling routine equipment maintenance, ordering supplies, monitoringinventory, updating data records, and interacting with suppliers. ?Performs/monitors processes or operations that are reasonably stable and/orwhich often require choices between several options. Responsible for effective e-mailcommunications and ability to create and maintain basic documents/records/files:TYPICAL EXAMPLES: --contact lists --process logs --problem incidence reports --customer information updates --purchase orders --inventory, maintenance or otherservice records -- configuration and utility files ? Responsible for recognizingproblems with the processes/operations he/she supports. Is responsible forresolving those problems with pre- established and documented solutions. Thosesolutions may be multipathed, requiring assessment of each problem situation. Isresponsible for reporting to others those problems that fall outside their scopeto resolve. ? Applies basic technical knowledge in the support of processes oroperations. TYPICAL EXAMPLES: --assist in installing software upgrades --performroutine hardware maintenance --troubleshoot and resolve user problems based onscripts or procedures provided Skills, Abilities, Knowledge: ? Ability to usestandard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus intranet andinternet functions. ? Knowledge of computer security policies and a generaloverall knowledge of computer security concepts. ? Knowledge of computing andnetworking concepts and fundamentals. Education: ? Degree in an InformationTechnology discipline or equivalent experience. - High School or secondarydiploma or equivalent Work Experience: ? Information technology experienceand/or business experience.
