Summary: American Water is seeking an IT Support Specialist to maintain application and interface inventories, support project management, and provide frontline support to employees and contractors. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage IT systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data privacy and governance across all projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Salary: $20/Hr.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain an inventory of applications and application interfaces.
- Integrate new capabilities into project, product, and program management.
- Collaborate with technology domains and business functions to develop innovative business solutions.
- Translate business strategies into successful project outcomes.
- Provide front-line support via call, chat, or email to American Water employees and contractors.
- Assist senior personnel in ensuring that all hardware platforms, operating systems, and related tools are available for managing production schedules and service levels.
- Analyze and evaluate system malfunctions, escalating issues to Level II or III support as necessary.
- Document problems and resolutions, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge database.
- Ensure data privacy and governance are prioritized in every project engagement.
- Monitor IT systems, including SAP and network infrastructure, and provide 24x7 remote support in the Operations Center.
- Handle customer threat assessments, monitor security systems, and manage badge creation and monitoring.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and promote solutions that support business requirements and align with enterprise goals.
- Maintain uniform enterprise-wide application design standards.
- Support leadership in managing customer expectations during project implementation.
- Handle incoming customer communications and create ITSM tickets, escalating when necessary.
- Ensure the team's objectives and goals are met through collaboration and effective communication.
- Monitor and address deficiencies in technical processes, informing Level II support as needed.
Education:
- Associate’s degree in Information Systems or a similar technology field is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of technology, procurement, contract management, and vendor management.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong collaboration, prioritization, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with virtual teams.
- Proactive, with the ability to work independently and develop solutions for business requirements.
- Fast learner with attention to detail, receptive to constructive criticism.
- Strong understanding of Windows Operating Systems (desktop and server) and mobile operating systems (iOS and Android).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook.
- Strong client relations and customer service skills.
- Ability to contribute to team success and achieve objectives and goals.
