Turion Space is looking for an IT Support Engineer with strong, current experience in both Linux and Windows desktop support to join our Platform Team. The ideal candidate will have recent, hands-on experience supporting Linux as a primary desktop environment while maintaining proficiency in Windows administration. You'll be supporting our engineering teams who primarily use Linux for their daily work, while also managing Windows systems and various IT support responsibilities. Working alongside Network, Security, and Platform Engineers, you'll ensure our team members have the technical support they need to work effectively across both environments.

Key Responsibilities
End-User Support & Operations
- Provide technical support for Linux desktop environments
- Manage and support Windows systems and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across both Linux and Windows systems
- Administer Microsoft 365 services and applications
- Manage user lifecycle including onboarding, provisioning, and off-boarding
- Configure and support office equipment including printers, video conferencing systems, and media hardware
- Process and fulfill hardware requests for office equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and manage hardware lifecycle
- Respond to and manage help desk tickets using systems like Zendesk, Jira, or similar
Systems Administration & Compliance
- Manage user accounts and access through Azure AD (Entra ID) and Intune
- Support desktop system deployment and configuration management
- Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and configurations in accordance with compliance requirements
- Assist with basic network connectivity troubleshooting
- Collaborate on security implementations and compliance controls
- Support backup and recovery processes for end-user systems
- Help implement and maintain compliance controls (NIST 800-171, CMMC, etc) at the desktop level
- Participate in Platform Team projects and compliance initiatives as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance (PCL)
- Recent and active Linux desktop support experience (within the last 2 years)
- Current Windows desktop support experience
- At least 3 years of technical support experience, with demonstrable proficiency in both Linux and Windows environments
- Strong and current working knowledge of Linux desktop environments and troubleshooting
- Proven experience with Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with current Linux distributions (Ubuntu or similar)
- Experience with Azure AD (Entra ID) and Intune administration
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration and support
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira or Zendesk
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
- Strong understanding of IT hardware and peripherals
- Basic understanding of security and compliance principles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an integrated team environment
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
Note: The role requires active and current experience in both Linux and Windows environments. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their recent knowledge through practical examples and technical discussion.

- Knowledge of audit preparation and documentation
- Experience working in regulated or high-security environments
- Experience working in cross-functional technical teams
