This position is responsible for the installation of and support for 400+ Windows and Mac based computers, 15+ network printers, Internet browsers, Network File server, and Printer Servers of the Auraria Library. This position makes recommendations and assists purchasing processes for all software and hardware at Auraria Library including managing software licenses and software maintenance agreements. This position makes day-to-day decisions for desktop support issues and reports to Information Technology Program Manager._
_IT Support Engineer_
_What you will do:_
_Examples of Work Performed_
+ _Responsible for installation and support to all software and hardware at the Auraria Library._
+ _Assist and monitor day-to-day Desktop Support operations._
+ _Recommend and purchase all software and hardware for the Auraria Library._
+ _Perform basic server maintenance duties such as data backup, security patching, and user account management on Auraria Library File Server._
+ _Manage Auraria Library's Print Servers for Tri-Institutional operability._
+ _Responsible for all stages of Desktop Support projects._
+ _Conduct end-user training for new equipment and software._
+ _Coordinate with Desktop Support student employees._
+ _Create and deploy Operating System images to computing labs and classroom._
+ _Participate in weekly meetings for the Desktop Support team._
+ _Responsible for working with CU Denver's Office of Information Technology (OIT) on issues related to Network (wired and wireless), Virtual Severs, and user accounts._
+ _Research and recommend innovative software and hardware technologies to improve library operations._
+ _Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required._
+ _Manage all stages of project planning, implementation, closing, and evaluation._
_Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)_
+ _A bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution._
+ _Substitution_ _: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience._
+ _1 year experience working in Information Technology workstation support or service desk fields._
_Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)_
+ _Experience with Active Directory and domains. Experience with computer or application imaging software.Experience working in a college or higher education environment. 2 years+ experience working in Information Technology workstation support or service desk fields._
_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities_
+ _Knowledge of technology trends and the ability to suggest, procure, and implement new technologies._
+ _Commitment to excellent end-user and Library staff customer experience._
+ _Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and network._
+ _Ability to learn new skills. Ability to complete work within specified deadlines._
+ _Analytical and problem solving skills. Effective presentation and listening skills._
+ _Excellent communication and customer service skills_
+ _Experience troubleshooting Windows and Mac Operating Systems._
+ _Knowledge of Microsoft Window Servers._
+ _Knowledge of VMWare vSphere and understanding of virtual environments._
+ _Knowledge of Library applications such as Envisionware, Faronics.Knowledge of computer networking (LAN/WANs)._

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
