IT Scrum Master (Bank Operations) with Western Alliance Bank (Phoenix, AZ)
Responsible for building a high-performing team of leaders that produce successful outcomes when paired with project managers and technology teams to execute high-level project plans. Implement and support Agile practices within the organization. Collaborate with technology teams to achieve predictability and reduce waste by establishing guiding principles around capacity planning, prioritization, cross-team dependencies, and roadmap management. Perform daily standups, document progress and blockers, and track and measure velocity using various tools. Create written standards and associated support documentation for tools and practices adopted by the teams. Partner with leadership and work with stakeholders for proper and precise communications, status, backlog prioritization, and project scope and timelines. Liaison with discipline managers to convey their concerns to Scrum teams regarding governance policies and adherence to corporate standards. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate teams on Agile principles, practices, and tools. Coach Scrum teams to deliver capabilities using Agile practices while also following the software development lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes to ensure all risk, security and development requirements are met. Identify skills and competencies of Scrum team members to make adjustments and to promote highly effective teams. Train Scrum masters and serve as a mentor to less experienced team members. This position allows partial remote work one day of the week and reports to the corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. Requires 5 years of progressive, post-Bachelor's experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: AGILE and SCRUM frameworks and definitions; Waterfall and Agile methodologies; ADO, Jira, Confluence, CMBD, SharePoint and Office 365; Jira board and stories; Agile Ceremonies, including Standup, Development Velocity, Grooming, Status Reporting, Risk Communications, BRD Development, Governance Delivery and Change Management.
