Job Description Summary
The IT Sr. Program Manager is responsible for leading the project management process for a group of programs and/or projects. Responsibilities include process execution, reporting, change management, risk mitigation, budget management, and stakeholder management. Consults with sponsors, stakeholders and other key parties to ensure program or project alignment and to manage expectations. Partners with aligned leaders to establish the strategic direction of the program. Leads critical initiatives in a variety of areas within the IT organization. Advises senior leadership on the scope of the programs, status, and resource planning for delivering successful outcomes. For these positions technical acquisition/divestiture experience with an infrastructure lens would be highly relevant. I would like a smattering of different experience in the PM roles. Eg. Network experience, DC experience, database & middleware etc.

Project management
- Oversees a varied and complex program covering multiple domains and disciplines.
- Owns and maintains Project Management framework for use by aligned Project Managers.
- Facilitates change management activities.
- Drives quality management across the program.
- Consults with senior leadership on overall business strategy to create and manage the overall program strategy.
- Creates business cases to support program prioritization.
- Creates and maintains program artifacts
- Responsible for program level reporting including accounting for key project level rollups.
- Integrates multiple projects across resource, priority, and timeline dimensions.
- Manages and resolves program and project resource constraints.
- Identifies and manages program level risks.
- Leverages available data and analytics to drive program level strategy and actions.
- Owns relationships with internal and external stakeholder teams; facilitates regular updates with senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Manages program financials and resource allocation budget.
- Owns and manages escalated program issues to resolution.
- Coaches, mentors and/or manages aligned project managers.
Role-specific Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Expert understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Discipline (Integration, Scope, Time, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk Management, Procurement)
- Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across assignments and delegate appropriately
- Knowledge of MS Project, MS Excel Advanced, MS PowerPoint Advanced, and Visio.
- Comprehensive understanding of project and program management principles specifically relating to client-facing projects and portfolio management.
- Expert understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process including PMI, Agile, XP and SCRUM methodologies preferred.
- Solid foundation in software development and computer science principles and practices.
- Basic understanding of technology infrastructures, and software frameworks.
