IT Senior Network Administrator
Summary
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operation of the organization's networks. This role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure. The Senior Network Administrator also plays a key role in identifying and implementing IT best practices and ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.
Works effectively and pro-actively as a senior network administrator with the business community, external vendors, IT applications analysts and other IT colleagues during a project and on-going operational and technology work, contributing to the development of cohesive and cost-effective systems architecture and security and control of company IT assets.
Duties & Responsibilities
Network Management:
- Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Troubleshoot network issues, optimize network performance, and ensure network security.
- Implement and maintain network access controls and policies.
- Provide documentation of network systems and update the internal knowledge base.
Security Management:
- Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents and breaches.
Project Management:
- Plan and execute IT projects, including equipment upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with relevant IT regulations, standards, and security policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation and configurations.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 7-10 years' experience managing, configuring, and administrating LAN and WLAN controller, switches, and router technologies. Cisco experience is a plus.
- Management experience with antivirus, VPN, Entra ID, and MDM. Experience with CrowdStrike, Cisco AnyConnect, and Microsoft Intune are a plus.
- Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and tools.
- Project management skills.
- strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., , CompTIA Network+ or Security+, Cisco Certified Network Professional) are a plus.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to using ITIL-like processes and supporting applications in a disciplined way to ensure timely and accurate services, and reliable infrastructure environment information.
