Under the supervision of the IT Manager, this position provides internal support and maintenance of the computer desktop environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, installing hardware & software solutions and supporting the internal help desk. Will be responsible for inventory maintenance, administration and internal support of Veterans Inc. PCs, tablets, printers, servers and related equipment. Routine tasks will include, but are not limited to: end user support, license tracking, preforming PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
This position is based out of Veterans Inc. headquarters located at 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605 but travel to offsite locations throughout New England required. Must have personal and reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2-5 years IT support experience in a Windows environment with a two-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education and experience.
- Broad understanding of information systems technology.
- Relevant experience in the following areas: setup, configuration, troubleshooting of desktop/notebook hardware and software, experience supporting a variety of WiFi-enabled devices and remote users, Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
- Relevant certifications (A+, Network+, CCNA, Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Support Technician) required.
- Outstanding Customer Support/ Service Skills to include effective communication and strong interpersonal skills required.
- Must be able to pass a CORI background records check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in relevant field.
- 5+ years of documented experience
- Prior training experience, problem solving skills, understanding of Microsoft Office 365, Windows 8 highly desired!
This position requires frequent travel within Worcester County and occasional travel to other Veterans Inc. locations throughout New England. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
