JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This critical role supports the reliable operation of Entergy's real-time energy management systems by developing RTU configurations, commissioning new SCADA field devices, and troubleshooting remote equipment failures. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with cross-functional groups to ensure seamless communication between field devices and the SCADA host, enabling the company to deliver safe and efficient energy services to its customers. This position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of modern and legacy RTU platforms, collaborate on innovative projects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Entergy's real-time systems.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop RTU configurations for modern and legacy RTU platforms includin SEL RTAC, GE D400S, GE D20, ACS peripheral boards, SEL DPAC, etc.
- Analyze and recommend corrections to engineering design packages, such as SCADA telemetry maps (“edit sheets”), to best align with commissioning practices
- Perform testing and provide support for new hardware, software, and firmware updates on transmission and distribution devices
- Conduct comprehensive testing on a variety of field equipment, including RTUs, relays, meters, line sensors, and IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices)
- Provide critical operational support to maintain the availability and reliability of production systems and devices, including non-business hours on-call support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute weekly SCADA system database updates and site transfers for the Energy Management System, Generation Management System, and Gas Distribution Management System
- Perform and support transmission field device hardware checkouts to ensure equipment is fully functional and safe before being energized and placed into operation. This is a key aspect of the company's safety and compliance initiatives
- Participate in the team's 24-hour on-call rotation to provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of communication issues with SCADA devices
- Deliver exceptional customer support and services to address problems reported through service tickets, working closely with personnel from the Entergy TCCs, DOCs, LBA, field relay, and engineering departments, as well as partner agencies
- Effectively communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas both verbally and in writing
- Collaborate with teammates in a virtual and office environment to provide project support, receive training, deliver training, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in company-driven programs, such as close call/good catch entry, safety presentations, volunteerism, and professional development through performance reviews and individual development plans
- Define and adhere to company processes and procedures used to comply with industry standards
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree or equivalent experience
Minimum experience required of the position
- 1+ years working with SCADA/RTU assets at an operation center, generation site, engineering department, or related experience
- Experience with the design, development, and/or testing of real-time system applications and enhancements
- Proven track record of understanding business objectives and supporting business needs
- Proven track record of relevant technology delivery
- Experience with NERC CIP requirements is a plus
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Desired - Knowledge of RTU configurations
- Desired - Knowledge of Distribution or Transmission Equipment
- Desired - Knowledge of the operation of the electric power and/or generation systems
- Desired - Ability to support real-time systems

Work Conditions
Office environment with minimal physical requirements. Hybrid position with time split between Entergy office and home office.
