Description Job Title: IT Specialist/ Customer Support Location: Fort Meade, Maryland Security Clearance: Secret
• Technical Support
• Provide first-line technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage service requests, incidents, and problems, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Offer guidance and training to users on the efficient use of IT systems and tools.
• Network Operations
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues, including connectivity, latency, and security vulnerabilities.
• Implement network upgrades, patches, and configurations in line with organizational standards and security protocols.
• Systems Administration
• Administer and maintain servers, storage solutions, and virtual environments.
• Perform system backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ensure that all systems are compliant with DoD policies and guidelines, including regular updates and security patches.
• Data Administration
• Manage and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security.
• Perform data migrations, backups, and recovery operations.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to optimize data storage and retrieval processes.
Qualifications
• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT support, network operations, systems administration, or data administration.
• Previous experience in a classified environment with a focus on DoD IT operations is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues across various platforms, including Windows, Linux, and network environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols.
• Experience with systems administration tasks, including user management, file permissions, and server maintenance.
• Familiarity with database management and administration, including SQL, backup, and recovery.
• Certifications (Preferred):
• CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.
• ITIL Foundation or equivalent.
