Title: Analyst, IT Quality Assurance
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst with experience in Workday, SQL, and preferably Varicent to join our Quality Assurance team. The QA Analyst will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to ensure the quality of our systems and integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data validation, system testing, and quality assurance practices.

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst with experience in Workday, SQL, and preferably Varicent to join our Quality Assurance team. The QA Analyst will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to ensure the quality of our systems and integrations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data validation, system testing, and quality assurance practices.
Essential Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Strategy: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for both manual and automated testing, focusing on the Workday platform, SQL-based systems, and Varicent integration.
- Requirements Review: Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to ensure test coverage.
- Functional & Regression Testing: Perform functional, integration, and regression testing on applications, focusing on Workday modules and custom reports.
- Data Validation: Utilize SQL for data validation and queries to ensure data integrity across systems and reports.
- Varicent Testing (if applicable): Test Varicent configurations and reports to ensure accurate data flow and alignment with business compensation models.
- Defect Tracking & Resolution: Log defects in the tracking system, and work with developers and project teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Automation Testing: Develop automated test scripts for repetitive testing tasks, focusing on critical business flows in Workday and data validation.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test plans, cases, and scripts.
- Collaborates with Business Analysts, Project team, and Developers during requirements gathering and data design to identify opportunities for testing and validation.
- Adopt and improve standards for defect management.
- Develop and manage testing plan for each application and project.
- Completes other projects and special assignments as requested by supervisor and/or Senior Management
- Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Contributes ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company
- Drill into business processes to gain insight and understanding.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Workday Experience: Strong understanding of Workday modules, particularly HR, Payroll, Financials, and custom reports.
- SQL Proficiency: Experience writing SQL queries for data validation and manipulation.
- Varicent Experience (Preferred): Familiarity with Varicent compensation management software, including testing compensation models, reports, and workflows.
- QA Methodologies: Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Manual & Automated Testing: Experience with both manual testing and automation frameworks.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in testing and data validation.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify root causes of defects and collaborate on effective solutions.
- Varicent Testing: Experience in testing and validating Varicent configuration and outputs.
- Automation Frameworks: Experience with test automation tool, Leapwork, is a plus.
- Workday Integration Testing: Familiarity with testing integrations between Workday and other enterprise systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a QA Analyst role.
- Experience with Workday, SQL, and Varicent is highly desirable.
