Sabot Consulting is seeking a Journey Level Technology Services Project Manager to support projects for the Technology Services Division to modernize technology solutions that improve the customer experience. This role will utilize their Journey Level knowledge, extensive experience, and expertise in the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology of execution. Using your Journey Level knowledge and experience in the Policies, Standards and Practices, to ensure that their assigned project is successfully completed, this person is responsible for planning, initiating, managing, and delivering IT projects, including large, major enterprise projects that are vital to program delivery and impact various business units throughout the state.

Sabot Consulting is seeking a Journey Level Technology Services Project Manager to support projects for the Technology Services Division to modernize technology solutions that improve the customer experience. This role will utilize their Journey Level knowledge, extensive experience, and expertise in the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology of execution. Using your Journey Level knowledge and experience in the Policies, Standards and Practices, to ensure that their assigned project is successfully completed, this person is responsible for planning, initiating, managing, and delivering IT projects, including large, major enterprise projects that are vital to program delivery and impact various business units throughout the state.
Responsibilities:
- The Journey Level Technology Services Project Manager will produce project management deliverables that are acceptable to the Office of the State Chief Information Officer (OCIO), and business unit customers.
- The Journey Level Technology Services Project Manager will be responsible for providing the project Steering Committee, the OCIO, & Project Quality Assurance with monthly project status reports and participating in all project meetings as required.
- The Journey Level Technology Services Project Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining project documentation as specified by the project’s Senior Program Manager.
- The Journey Level Technology Services Project Manager will make calculated decisions, assessing information and risks available without overburdening resources.
- The Journey Level Technology Services Project Manager will utilize appropriate project management methodologies and techniques as appropriate for the size and environment of the project, considering organizational constraints (e.g. staffing constraints)
- Maintaining open channels of communication between project teams, Subject Matter Experts, Stakeholders, and management.
- Working with the business stakeholders, fulfill the business needs with the systems integration and implementation effort.
- Updating and maintaining detailed project work plans using the standard IT project management tools, Microsoft Project, MS Visio, and MS Office)
- Updating and maintaining project Work Breakdown Structures, resource plans, work schedules and budgets
- Current, valid, Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
- 5 (five) years, as a Lead Project Manager in enterprise, large-scale, software application, implementation, and integration projects.
- 5 (five) years of direct, personal, experience in the creation and maintenance of IT project PMBOK documentation deliverables
- 5 (five) years, in estimating IT project task durations, costs and levels of effort
- Journey level of knowledge of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) standards and guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Journey PM level of experience in Microsoft Office applications, MS Project, including Visio.
Nice to have:
- Prior IT Project Management experience under the oversight of WA State Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) IT standards, policies, & guidelines.
- Prior IT Project Management experience with State organized projects
- Prior experience in the creation of State-run Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Quotation (RFQ) solicitations.
- Experience in implementing Cloud-hosted business process migration in Software as a Service (SaaS)
- Implementations utilizing Google, Amazon, or Microsoft cloud hosting technologies.
