About the Job
The primary purpose of the IT Project Manager role is to lead, oversee, and ensure the successful delivery and management of multiple projects simultaneously. The IT Project Manager performs a critical function of managing KU IT and campus IT projects within scope, to a certain quality, and within time and cost restraints. These factors may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management to deliver business value.
This position is responsible for providing project management for medium- to large-scale campus projects. This includes project planning and organization, coordination, facilitation, monitoring, communication, and documentation. The PM will provide leadership and direction for project teams during all phases of the project lifecycle.
This position is required to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity, have excellent follow-through and time management skills, can manage and lead, oversee, and ensure the successful delivery and management of multiple university strategic projects concurrently, while exhibiting a great attitude and energy in a team-focused, matrixed environment.
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the Project Management and Change Management Office, this position is given significant latitude and independence in matters of importance within the performance of the duties of the position.
