About the Job
Maximus is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with Scrum Master skills to join the Enterprise Technology Program Management Office (EPMO). You will be instrumental in supporting program reporting and process standardization work by implementing Agile practices, fostering a collaborative and productive environment, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality solutions. This is a remote position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the point of contact and client interface for project technology related issues
- Manage project expectations, evaluate project needs, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure that program needs are met with respect to urgency and priority
- Develop trust, credibility, and strong client relationships; seek opportunities to add value to internal and external client initiatives
- Review all project deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy meet project, stakeholder, and contractual standards
- Execute all project management functions; including work breakdown and cost estimation, scheduling, monitoring and tracking of technical progress against the defined timetables, budgets, staff assignments and developments
- Lead and direct the successful delivery of application development, systems integration, infrastructure, and product installation/customization services while ensuring that assigned projects adhere to the approved life cycle work patterns, standards, and procedures for solution delivery
- Manage activities of subcontractors utilized to deliver the technical solution
- Define and implement development plans for assigned projects
- Provide detailed direction during various stages of the lifecycle to include requirements analysis, testing and potentially programming support
- Identify, track, manage, and communicate risks and issues with stakeholders and upper management
- Assure the project is in compliance with MAXIMUS standards and procedures.
- Lead and direct the successful delivery of project ensuring that assigned projects adhere to the approved life cycle work patterns, standards, and procedures for the EPMO. Identify, track, manage, and communicate risks and issues with stakeholders and upper management.
- Coordinate, prepare and manage technical presentations and functional demonstrations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Ensure the team follows Agile practices and principles.
- Remove impediments and blockers to keep the team on track.
- Collaborate with product owners to manage and prioritize the backlog.
- Track and report on team progress and performance metrics.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Must have experience facilitating Agile Scrum ceremonies.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with project management tools and software in one or more such as MS Project, JIRA or Smartsheet.
- Experience successfully developing and deploying IT solutions using various development methodologies (e.g., waterfall, iterative, etc.)
- Ability to execute many complex tasks simultaneously, and work as a team member as well as independently.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Smartsheet experience is preferred.
- Relevant industry experience to include government services, healthcare, insurance.
- PMP Certification.
- Preferred Certification in Agile Methodologies - Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills, as well as an understanding of client relationship building are essential.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- High degree of confidence and ability to influence others through expert communication skills.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
