Position Summary: The IT Project Manager will oversee infrastructure projects focusing on reviewing legacy systems to determine upgrade paths or sunsetting strategies. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business stakeholders, to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption to services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Plan, initiate, and manage IT infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Legacy System Review: Conduct thorough assessments of existing legacy systems to identify upgrade opportunities or decommissioning requirements.
- Upgrade and Migration: Develop and execute detailed plans for system upgrades or migrations, ensuring compatibility with current and future business needs.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements, providing regular updates and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges related to infrastructure projects.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards, company policies, and best practices for IT infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a focus on infrastructure projects. Experience with legacy system upgrades or sunsetting is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud services. Familiarity with system integration and data migration techniques.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to successful completion.
- Travel: Must be willing to travel to the Madison office every other week.
