IT Principal Engineer for Western Alliance Bank – Irving, TX
Job Description: Collaborate with business and technology application owners to implement critical production processes across stratified internal and external-facing infrastructure, including managed file transfer (MTF), workload automation scheduling, SQL server full-stack capabilities, REST application programming interfaces (APIs), and legacy Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes. Build efficient production integrations between business processes and technology solutions. Design, configure, maintain and monitor the readiness of the MTF application, including scheduling and orchestration of jobs and patching upgrades. Monitor file transmission and environment readiness and setup various alerts to monitor the system utilization. Create jobs and manage SSH & PGP keys related to various transmissions. Perform engineering best practices for the generation, distribution, and usage of secure keys pertaining to TLS certificates, SSH/SFTP keys, and PGP keys. Conduct platform administration, including operating systems architecture, security, patching, maintenance, and risk mitigation. Control solutions by establishing specifications and coordinate with vendors and application-side programmers. Design and implement the secure interface exchange of data for department and institutional-level requirements. Create reliable process automation, including detailed technical job flows and data delivery requirements. Migrate existing jobs and schedulers into new architecture. Partial remote work available for two days of the week. This position reports to the office in Irving, Texas.
Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Requires four years of experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Service enablement APIs, messaging (MQ), Windows tasks schedulers, data propagation, service oriented architectures, and extract, transfer and load (ETL) applications; Scripting commands, techniques and its usages including technologies PowerShell, Python, or Perl; DevOps models including incident, problem and change management, and maintaining stability across organizations; Ticketing assignment system, including ServiceNow; Cleo Harmony; Cryptographic key management; and Computer networking, including protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, and SSL/TLS) and file integration using SFTP and SMB.
