The IT Policy Analyst is responsible for producing effective written communication for an IT Division within a federal government agency on policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will be working with our subject matter experts (SMEs) and other internal stakeholders to analyze, recommend, author, and deliver high-quality documentation such as procedures, policies, and SOPs.

IT Policy Analyst Job Description
The IT Policy Analyst is responsible for producing effective written communication for an IT Division within a federal government agency on policies, procedures, and guidelines. You will be working with our subject matter experts (SMEs) and other internal stakeholders to analyze, recommend, author, and deliver high-quality documentation such as procedures, policies, and SOPs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, draft, and maintain IT-related policies to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, current organizational standards, and IT objectives.
- Create strategy, through policy and other channels, to educate workforce of proposed and ongoing efforts to drive efficiency, new initiatives, standardize IT concepts, ensure compliance with federal policies, and/or revise existing standards.
- Develop and/or update communication outreach SOPs, policy directives, and other related processes and procedures.
- Analyze business processes to determine documentation requirements.
- Gather information through research, SME interviews, source documents, and review of existing documentation.
- Write various types of documentation, such as policies and operational procedures.
- Manage regular reviews with SMEs to maintain accuracy and completeness of documents.
- Create documents that comply with federal government customer's standards on language, writing style, structure, and format.
- Strong knowledge with creating and deriving policies in a start-up environment.
- Strong interviewing and listening skills.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster harmonious relationships.
