Large commercial construction company is looking for a IT Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department. This includes managing the IT staff, ensuring the smooth running of all IT systems and infrastructure, and implementing and maintaining IT policies and procedures. You will work closely with other departments to understand their needs and ensure that the IT systems and services support their goals. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing new technologies and trends in the IT industry, and for developing and maintaining relationships with key IT vendors and partners.

You will work closely with other departments to understand their needs and ensure that the IT systems and services support their goals. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing new technologies and trends in the IT industry, and for developing and maintaining relationships with key IT vendors and partners.
IT Operations Manager Essential Responsibilities
- Manage the IT staff, as applicable, and ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively. This includes setting performance objectives and providing regular feedback, coaching, and mentoring as needed.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases. This includes ensuring that all systems are configured and maintained in accordance with best practices, and that they can support the needs of the business.
- Oversee and execute cyber security processes and resources to identify and mitigate active cyber security threats. Manage all assisting vendors to achieve desired outcomes. Manage system/service solution access to enforce least privilege principles.
- Collaborate with the CIO, develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including disaster recovery and business continuity plans. This includes ensuring that all policies and procedures are up-to-date, clearly communicated to all staff, and consistently enforced.
- Monitor and analyze IT system performance and make recommendations for improvements. This includes identifying and addressing issues related to system availability, performance, and scalability. Develop service level agreements between the IT department and other departments, and then manage resources to deliver the promised service levels. Manage assisting vendors to achieve desired outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding IT systems and data. This includes ensuring that all systems and data are protected in accordance with industry standards and regulations, and that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in this regard.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the IT industry, and identify opportunities to improve the department's capabilities and effectiveness. This includes researching new technologies, tools, and best practices, and staying abreast of industry developments.
- Manage and maintain relationships with key IT vendors and partners. This includes identifying, selecting, and managing relationships with vendors and partners that provide critical services or technologies to the organization.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and end-users to identify, analyze, recommend, and implement software programs and systems designed to drive operational and team member efficiency and productivity.
IT Operations Manager Background & Experience Requirement
- B.S. or B.A. Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study; specific training and education focused on IT hardware, systems and software applications
- A minimum of 10 years in the IT field with at least 5 years of experience in IT operations management, including experience managing IT staff
- Strong knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, including servers, networks, and databases
- Experience developing and implementing IT policies and procedures
- Experience with IT budgeting and resource management
- Strong understanding of IT compliance and regulatory requirements
- ITIL and Project Management certifications are a plus
- Experience in the Construction Industry and specific MKI applications preferred (Trimble Viewpoint)
- Be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence both technical and non-technical staff
- Have strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage projects and resources effectively
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team
