Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA® (tenapanor) and XPHOZAH® (tenapanor). Ardelyx has agreements for the development and commercialization of tenapanor outside of the U.S. Kyowa Kirin commercializes PHOZEVEL® (tenapanor) for hyperphosphatemia in Japan. A New Drug Application for tenapanor for hyperphosphatemia has been submitted in China with Fosun Pharma. Knight Therapeutics commercializes IBSRELA in Canada.
Purpose of the role:
The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for working with the employees of Ardelyx to ensure their Information Technology needs are met. They should help contribute as a member of the support team. The individual should also be able to administer company cloud-based systems, IT equipment, All Hands and Zoom room systems. Additionally, this individual will work with business partners and cross-functional teams to support the implementation of new technology needed for IT and other departments. This individual will also take on the lead role to be a bridge between the IT Infrastructure team and the IT Operations team for global network, systems, and applications deployment and maintenance. Lastly, always provide exceptional support and services, ensuring the highest satisfaction of the day-to-day needs of our employees.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leading the implementation, maintenance, and support of IT Network and End User Services (EUS) solutions specializing in network, system, and client connectivity to the IT infrastructure.
- Assist IT Infrastructure team in deployment and maintained all IT infrastructure systems and services both on-premises and cloud-based including Firewall, switches, servers, security cameras, etc…
- Assist IT Commercial team in deployment and upkeep of Commercial Apps to End users.
- Leading day-to-day operations and support activities for Ardelyx Global IT operations, Sites support, End User experiences and services to ensure all incidents and requests are addressed and resolved effectively and in a timely manner within SLAs.
- Working as a member of our IT Service Desk team and acting as escalation point for our Global IT Service Desk Center.
- Serving as one of the primary and escalation points of contact for Global Executives and C- level support.
- Coordinating critical business activities for Fremont, Waltham, and Milwaukee offices.
- Orchestrate with and manage vendor activities to support operations of Global offices.
- Facilitating onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Work closely with HR, Facilities, and Commercial teams to onboard the Sales Force team and support the launch of our product(s).
- Responsible for all IT hardware/software management at the Fremont site including (Video Conference units, laptops, iPads, iPhones, printers, IT accessories, etc…). Work side by side with other staff for global sites hardware full life cycle management.
- Assist IT leadership team providing support audit related tasks to Finance and QA teams.
- Work with our external vendors, service providers, and partners on appropriate technical solutions for achieving operational excellence and business continuity.
- Provide architectural guidance for system and service design to improve security, scalability, reliability, and adaptability of our growing SAAS Footprint
- Provide strong leadership presence among all levels within the organization, especially mentoring the Jr IT Staff members.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field and/or 8+ years of working experience in Information Technology preferred in BioTech/Pharmaceuticals industries.
- Preferred Certifications: MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CCNP, Network+, A+, MCP
- 6+ years of being a systems engineer/operations engineer/systems administrator in a corporate environment.
- Track record of playing leading role in Infrastructure, Operations, Support, and Service Desk team in the fast-paced environment and constantly providing the Highest Level of End Users experiences.
- Exceptional communication & people skills with solid knowledge of modern Technologies especially in BioTech industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory environments such as GxP, GmP and supporting SOX Audit a plus
- Self-motivation and the ability to work as a collaborative team member are essential.
- Ability to adapt to constant change of the company going from R&D to Commercialization.
