Summary - basic function of the role
The role of IT Lead - Networks is critical in overseeing the design and support of network systems, including our global SD-WAN network, switching, wireless, firewall, and security infrastructure. This position plays a vital role within our global IT team, collaborating closely with the Network Manager in India and the rest of the team. This position reports to the Global End User Computing Sr. Manager in the U.S. and will be a key resource in a global Enerpac IT team, ensuring the smooth functioning of our network systems worldwide. This role demands exceptional project management skills, the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently, leadership qualities, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across different geographical locations.
In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the IT Lead - Networks will be instrumental in planning and designing network solutions to meet current and future business needs. They must possess extensive experience in Cisco LAN/WAN/Firewall technologies, including architecture, design, implementation, and support. Proficiency in FortiNet SD-WAN, Avaya VoIP, and Cisco & Forti wireless implementation and support is also essential.
Shift: Monday - Friday; 9:00 - 6:00 pm or 07:00 AM - 4:00 pm; flexible and be available to work on weekends to provide global support when it's required*
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
INTERNET ACCESS/FIREWALL MANAGEMENT:
- Install, support, and maintain company's Internet access with a focus on network security in the forms of firewalls, access lists, policies, and procedures.
- Implement, test, and maintain a high availability model utilizing redundant hardware and access circuits.
WAN/LAN and VOICE SUPPORT
- Manage a global SD-WAN network comprised of over 40 locations to ensure business continuity.
- Manage diverse global network configuration comprised of SD-WAN site-to-site VPN infrastructure.
- Provide overall architecture and design solutions for LAN/WAN services using Cisco technologies.
- Provide high level as well as detailed LAN/WAN/Wireless/PBX configuration and cost estimates to support projects that include new facilities, upgrade of existing facilities, M&A integration of new sites etc.
- Perform network management, analysis, and diagnostics on WAN/LAN services, including local access, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the network systems and provide training to other team members.
- Provide timely and accurate communication to users and management of network status. Includes notice of scheduled downtime, network "events" such as slowness, outages, etc.
- Maintain environment to ensure proper performance of business-critical systems including ERP, Video Conferencing, and VoIP.
- Manage the implementation of Network Access Control at remote locations.
WIRELESS NETWORK DESIGN
- Maintain the centralized 802.11 Wireless systems.
- Design new Wireless deployments for existing facilities or new construction projects.
DISASTER RECOVERY SUPPORT
- Ensure network system availability through accurate documentation, performing network configuration backups, and building redundancy.
- Develops network recovery strategies/procedures for multiple locations, systems, and technologies.
- Participate in the yearly DR testing process.
MANAGEMENT
- Develop and manage to SLA's associated with WAN/LAN
- Maintain relationships with outside vendors to provide additional support/escalation for the WAN/LAN environment.
Experience with configuring Network monitoring software.
Education and Experience
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
- CCNA certification in the recent 2-3 years is a requirement. CCNP certification is a plus.
Experience Requirements:
- 6+ years supporting Cisco technologies for a large multi-national enterprise network.
- Solid understanding of firewall concepts, network architecture, and wireless technologies.
- Hands on experience configuring and troubleshooting Layer 3 routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Working knowledge of DNS, Radius (NPS), DHCP, and NAC.
- Experience working with Telecommunication circuits, cabling, and equipment.
- Strong analytical and diagnostics skills.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with clients and peers at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex situations independently.
- Must have the ability to work closely with both end-users and IT staff in providing solutions to system problems.

Physical Demands
Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto to remote sites. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer and telephone for long periods of time.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different manufacturing facilities where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to low levels of noise in an office.
