We’re looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead and oversee Maze’s IT infrastructure operations. In this role you’ll ensure our IT systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to support cutting-edge biotech research and development. You’ll join a small collaborative team where your expertise will have a direct impact on our mission to transform lives through genetic insights. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires at least three days a week on-site at our headquarters. We believe that in-person collaboration strengthens teamwork and helps us better support the critical work happening in our labs.
The Impact You’ll Have:As our IT Infrastructure Manager, you’ll be at the heart of Maze’s IT operations, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure that keeps our biotech research moving forward. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
- Build and maintain a reliable, hybrid IT infrastructure that includes networks, servers, storage systems, and cloud services to support biotech research and development. Maintain wired and wireless networks at our facilities
- Ensure IT security by developing strategies and implementing policies and procedures to protect sensitive infrastructure and data and comply with industry regulations like GxP, HIPAA, and GDPR
- Manage cloud environment (e.g. Azure, AWS) and virtualization technologies to ensure scalability and reliability
- Lead IT projects for infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and new technology rollouts, ensuring they align with business goals and timelines
- Support lab informatics by managing instrument hardware builds, data management, and backup/restore procedures
- Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services, ensuring we get the best value from our partners
- Provide hands-on support as needed, including helpdesk services and troubleshooting
- Document network configurations to keeping things running smoothly and maintain transparency

We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate across teams. Here’s what will set you up for success in this role:
- Experience and Education:
- At least 5 years of IT infrastructure experience, preferably in biotech or a regulated environment
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or CISSP are a plus
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) is nice to have
- Technical expertise:
- Demonstrated experience with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), servers, enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, firewalls, network security, cloud networking etc.), hardware, and software support
- Advanced knowledge of IT Security Operations and enterprise security solutions (MDR, EDR, SIEM) is preferred
- Proficiency in managing on-prem infrastructure, IAAS, SAAS, as well as networking, storage systems and servers
- Experience in supporting lab informatics or regulated environments is a big plus

The expected annual salary range for employees located in the San Francisco Bay Area is $144,000 – $176,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. Maze performs position-based compensation benchmarking to industry market data to ensure we pay competitive wages. Determination of starting salary will depend upon a variety of job-related factors, which may include professional experience, skills, and job location. The expected salary range for this role may be modified in the future.
