Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Exercise and promote safety
- Provide support to end users on a variety of issues
- Identify, research and resolve technical problems
- Document, track and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution
- Complete daily maintenance of Backup Tape systems and Servers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: 2 years of college in appropriate field of study
- Certifications Required: Lock-out/Tag-out certification (provided by UAC)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal skills required; must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedural manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and departmental personnel
- Computer Skills: Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures relating to IT function; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite; computer troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and can calculate fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions
- Reasoning Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Physical Abilities: Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands; must be able to lift 50 pounds at any time during his/her shift; the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
Working Conditions
- Schedule: 1st shift (some flexibility required for occasional nights and/or weekends)
Safety
All UAC employees must know and follow job safety procedures, attend required health and safety training, proactively promote safety at work, and promptly report actual and potential accidents and injuries. Employee must understand the PPE and wear it properly.
