Job DescriptionGeneral Summary
The incumbent will serve as a member of the UMMS IS&T Innovation, Architecture, and Design (I, A&D) team. Under general direction, this position will be responsible for strategic planning, design, and implementation of core technologies solutions. The incumbent is accountable for budgeting, design, and evaluation of a diverse spectrum of technology, including, but not limited to: UNIX/Windows systems, wired/wireless networking, Information Security, and software development.

A. Accountability
- The position reports to the Chief Engineer of Innovation, Architecture, & Design
- The position is responsible for delivering a high degree of customer satisfaction.
- This position is a Medical System role within Corporate IT
B. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in departmental functions and activities including development, enhancement, implementation, and ongoing management of the UMMS I, A&D Program.

- Participate in the development, implementation, administration and modifications to process to maintain the efficient and effective functioning of assigned responsibilities.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of end users, technology staff, and 3rd party resources to create new technology solutions for UMMS.
- Assist with the discovery, evaluation, and prioritization of emerging technology projects and pilots that align with UMMS organizational goals.
- Assist with the creation and ongoing maintenance of the UMMS strategic technology roadmap.
- Maintain an awareness of IT industry trends.
- Responsible for ensuring that proposed solutions adhere to UMMS architecture standards and can be supported by IT operations and support teams.
- Prepares proposals, cost/benefit analyses, and feasibility studies. Provides liaison support between the different technology teams, end users, vendors and internal support group as needed.
- Fosters and maintains adequate internal and external communications. Keeps Leadership informed of significant activities, needs and problems. May be called upon to perform responsibilities of Leadership during periods of absence.
- In coordination with departmental management, ensures systems meet regulatory agency and security requirements. Cooperates and coordinates extensively with security team.
- Strong technical background, including, but not limited to: UNIX/Linux systems administration, software development, network engineering, Information Security, Cloud computing, virtualization, etc.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- 5 years of relevant systems administration or networking experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff, patients, visitors, and levels of staff.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the management of services within numerous IT infrastructure programs.
- Experience and knowledge in working in a diverse and stimulating academic clinical environment.
- Accomplished leader, manager, and motivator.
- Ability to control, lead, and manage projects.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $48.654-$59.466
