Join one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers, UChicago Medicine, as an IT Finance and Portfolio Manager. This position is hybrid and requires travel to site locations in Chicagoland as needed.
The IT Finance and Portfolio Manager supports the project intake, portfolio analytics, and portfolio governance, as well as managing IT Capital allocations, the annual IT operating budget, and monthly IT budget / variance reporting. This function enables effective decision making and business value delivery. The IT Finance and Portfolio Manager partners with IT leaders and portfolio stakeholders to enable demand planning, project resource management, and project pipeline planning. The IT Finance and Portfolio Manager also supports financial and reporting function and acts as the primary administrator of the Tableau financial reporting dashboards, Apptio financial/consumption process, and the ServiceNow (SNOW) Portfolio Management application. The IT Finance and Portfolio Manager will have strong leadership skills, experience supporting and presenting to executives, and excellent relationship management skills.
Essential Job Functions • Act as facilitator for the project intake process, support governance process• Ensure TCO and business value is clearly documented and TCO is completed before project initiates• Support portfolio leaders with tracking of incoming project work in SNOW• Support Architects, PMs, and Portfolio leaders to manage demand, create project resource plans, and ensure scheduling alignment• Identify opportunities to improve service and governance processes• Provide analysis on the portfolio to be used in decision making, create reports to be used by management to track the status of their portfolios• Primary administrator for the SNOW Portfolio Management application• Understand all integration points and capabilities between ServiceNow and other systems e.g. SharePoint, Apptio, Oracle, etc.• Maintain the PMO Playbook, PM training resources, and associated templates to support good PM practices, in partnership with PMO Director• Help coach PM’s follow Playbook standards and good PM practices. • Gather feedback for continuous improvement from PMs and IT leaders • Serve as SharePoint Site Administrator for the PMO• Manage the IT Capital allocation process and status reporting• Lead the annual IT Operating budget process with IT and Finance leaders• Provide monthly variance reporting and analysis on IT OpEx budget results• Primary administrator of the Tableau financial reporting dashboards• Primary administrator (TBMA) of the Apptio financial/consumption charge back process • Support IT leaders and staff with financial reporting issues, forecasts, actuals tracking (OpEx and CapEx) and the PO/invoicing process as needed• Support UCMC Finance team with financial reporting issues, forecasts, actual tracking (OpEx and CapEx)
Required Qualifications • B.S or M.S in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent experience• Minimum of 5 -10 years with portfolio management or IT project management• Demonstrated project portfolio management skills (project intake, resource, demand planning, budget management)• Hands-on experience using Portfolio Management tools like ServiceNow for portfolio management, resource management, project status reporting, portfolio reporting, etc.• Ability to organize and present project portfolio reports, proposals and other related portfolio information • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a focus on collaboration, team building and customer service• Excellent relationship management building and skill set required• Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels of the organization, understanding of “executive ready” communication• Proficiency with Microsoft tools: Outlook, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word, and Excel• Independent problem-solver• Sort through issues and conducts comparative analysis of multiple solutions (i.e. skilled in problem analysis; pays very close attention to detail) • Able to work in a team environment or independently• Excellent listening and organizational skills with emphasis on detail and follow-through Preferred Qualifications• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification • MBA degree • Experience with Tableau as an administrator/developer (beginner/intermediate level)• Experience with Apptio as an administrator (beginner/intermediate level)
