- JOB SUMMARY
Provide quality support with a high degree of customer satisfaction, technical expertise, and timeliness. The Field Support Technician is an entry level position that will assist the IT and Clinical Informatics Departments in delivering organization wide technical and business system support. Performs administrative and office support activities. May assist both full-time and part-time employees, contracted, and student staff. While in the Information Systems Department, the candidate will adhere to all policies and procedures and will act as assistant to other Information Systems Department Team Members

Knowledge-
- Inventory and asset management, conference room preventative maintenance, and e-recycling.
- Supporting a complex and fast paced environment with outstanding attention to customer satisfaction.
- Educating end users: MS Office, email, OS, and applications. Including daily work task on a workstation.
- Laptop and desktop imaging, deployment and recovery.
- Customer support for over 350 user’s campus wide from IT accessory to workstation dressing.
- Using ticketing systems to report individual work accomplishments and to track Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Contributing to large scale projects as needed.
- Help with Level 1 through Level 4 and Clinical Informatics projects as needed.
- May have to fill in for Level 1 taking calls when volume is up.
- Install and perform repairs to hardware, software, and equipment, following design or installation specifications.
- Oversee the daily performance of all desktop/thin client systems.
- Set up equipment performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software.
- Conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and provide technical assistance and support.
- Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or system administrators for service.
- Prepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Answer users' inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
- Observe system functionality to verify correct operations and detect errors.
- Provide support for network security functions and document remediation actions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Must be network security minded and have understanding of network security fundamentals.
- Microsoft OS: Win-10 and Win-11 installation, management, troubleshooting skills.
- Managing wireless clients, troubleshooting, and connectivity.
- Performa cable installation, removal and repair.
- Perform network cable termination and testing.

Education-
- Minimum: Associates degree in computer science, A+ or equivalent.

Experience-
- 1-2 years related experience minimum. Healthcare experience preferred.
- Strong customer service skills…PC troubleshooting & configuration.
- Good organization and communications skills. Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information to others.
- Ability to handle multiple task simultaneously.
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of current information technology.
- Basic knowledge of telephone systems.
- Good communication skills.
- MUST adhere to a proper attitude and behavior.
- Must be able to accommodate heavy foot duty work.
- Must be able to work with nurses and doctors in order to troubleshoot application/process controls and workflows.
- Experience using clinical applications preferred.
- Must be able to build a PC and be mechanically inclined.
