Primary responsibilities include supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of a Business Resiliency & Recovery Program, including disaster recovery planning, risk assessment, testing, and ongoing process improvement. In addition, the position will support all activities necessary to enable the company and its subsidiaries to respond to a technology interruption.
Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Manage coordination with technical units and application owners dedicated to DR to ensure procedures and configurations are maintained and updated and influence technology services lifecycle roadmaps to ensure appropriate resiliency of people, process, and technology.
- Assist with the communication of changes and updates to resiliency strategies and capability maturity of all facets of IT Resiliency services with all relevant client functions and leaders.
- Stay current on technology aspects of IT Resiliency services and DR professional practices and industry trends to assist in the continual development and maintenance of a resilient DR plan.
- Assist disaster recovery efforts, ensuring appropriate resources are engaged, and the incident is resolved within the agreed-upon service-level agreements (SLAs) or Recovery Time Objective (RTO)
- Coordinate Disaster Recovery testing, including scheduling, execution, monitoring, and review of DR tests. Responsible for developing project plans and test scenarios by working with respective IT and Business teams for DR drills required by policy.
- Establish effective communication channels and mechanisms for major incident reporting, ensuring timely and accurate updates are provided to stakeholders, including IT teams, management, and end-users. Work closely with internal partners, external vendors, and business teams to provide guidance to implement proper BCDR strategies/plans.
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge in various IT service functions, including network, data center, system administration, DBA, Applications, Middleware, different cloud solutions, cyber security, crisis management, etc.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in business resiliency and recovery procedure, planning, scheduling, and testing company-wide, including BCP (Business Continuity Plan), BIA (Business Impact Analysis), TIA (Technical Impact Analysis), DR (Disaster Recovery) plans
- Working knowledge of public clouds- AWS and/or Azure and/or Google
- Capacity to manage through influence across multiple groups including both technology and business stakeholders.
- Experienced in program/project management to synthesize multiple tasks and timelines into holistic, clearly defined milestones and deliverables. Ability to work within tight deadlines and a dynamic environment.
- Strong relationship-building, influencing and problem-solving skills with the ability to be both a leader and a team player operating with tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to convey complex technical strategies, issues and plans to a broad audience from technician to senior business and technology management.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, engineering or related technical or business discipline. Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in Crisis management, Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity in a technology setting.
- Industry training and/or certifications directly correlating with IT Resiliency and Disaster Recovery preferred.
- RSA Archer experience a plus
