About the Job
This role is HYBRID, on-site 3 days a week at our Northbrook or Chicago Office. The Information Architect will play a critical role as part of the Global Data Management and Analytics team and be responsible for architecting how UL Solutions defines core data domains to enhance its ability to integrate data across systems and better enable analytics. The Information Architect will be a key contributor to UL Solutions’ Global Data Strategy and will work across various IT teams and business stakeholders to understand and help shape how data flows throughout critical business processes.A global leader in applied safety science, UL Solutions (NYSE: ULS) transforms safety, security and sustainability challenges into opportunities for customers in more than 110 countries.

Our science is your advantage.University Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus generally ten years of direct related experience.5+ years of experience in data modeling and data architecture across multiple technology platforms.Experience working across IT teams and business stakeholders to build consensus.Experience with data governance practices and data quality principles.Experience with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin Data Modeler, ER/Studio, Sql DBM).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.Ability to work effectively and build trust with business stakeholders.Strong communication and Issue resolution skillsWhat you’ll experience working at UL:Mission: For UL Solutions, corporate and social responsibility isn’t new.

The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 to $180,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary.
This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country.

Document data flows for critical data elements (CDEs) against L0 and L1 business process maps and assist in enabling the development and capture of business metrics and KPIs.Schedule, lead, and maintain minutes of the UL Solutions’ Data Governance Board and its sub-committees to drive discussions and decisions related to data governance.Provide quarterly updates on data quality to UL Solutions’ Data Governance Board.Maintain comprehensive business information models (conceptual, logical). Participate in the gathering and maintenance of business metadata and data quality requirements and standards.Collaborate with software and solution architects, data governance members, integration architects, and data architects to drive alignment across platforms to a common business information model.Assist with the development of data governance, data quality, data privacy, and data security standards and best practices.Assist with improving and ensuring data quality across the data supply chain.Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data architecture and information management.Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practicesPerforms other duties as directed.Posting Date: 2024-12-03
