IT Cloud Architect - Synergy Staffing Inc

Position Summary: As part of the IT Applications team, the Cloud Solutions Architect will build and lead the implementation of a modern Enterprise Cloud Architecture that effectively support the digital transformation journey. S/he will focus on designing and building our cloud architecture foundations with an emphasis on scaling to drive growth. S/he will work cross-functionally with teams of Product Managers, Data Engineers, Enterprise Architects, Digital Ops and Sales/Marketing teams.

Project: As part of our digital strategy, we are enforcing a cloud-first approach for all current and future solutions in our landscape, focusing on scalable, reliable and resilient software solutions, ensuring competitivity and continuity to our business when possible. Examples of major applications hosted natively in the cloud are a point-of-sale system and an ecommerce application.

Job Duties: The Cloud Solutions Architect will use his/her technical and functional capacities to build and implement effective architecture standards, data models and a reference architecture that is robust, yet flexible, scalable, and cost-effective.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Work directly with stakeholders to comprehend solution problems and identify opportunities
• Work together with a team of application developers, engineers, and designers to deliver innovative technology solutions using Azure/AWS/Oracle public cloud services
• Responsible for collecting and defining technical requirements to enable business process and integrations
• Establish an approximate level-of-effort and staffing requirements for complex development projects
• Lead the team of software engineers and technical leads to design effective, efficient, scalable, cost-effective and secure applications within the organization's Cloud software platforms
• Ensure that solutions created by the development team adhere to technical architecture standards
• Stay up-to-date on emerging technology trends and promote an environment of learning

Ideal Experience: We are looking for an  individual who is passionate about software architecture and new emerging digital ecommerce technologies. Former experience as a solution architect, especially driving ecommerce in an industrial company is a big plus.

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Solution Architecture; related experience and/or education may be considered.
• 3+ years' of relevant professional work experience designing, executing, and supporting IT Cloud solutions
• Solid knowledge of Software Engineering and Architectural Principles and methods, including all architectural components and their interrelationships
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Certification Expert or AWS Solutions Architect Professional are a plus
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Cloud VMWare Solution are a plus
• Knowledge of full software development lifecycle processes, enterprise application software installation and maintenance, integrating with third-party applications through API interfaces and other means
• Solid experience with programming languages such as C#, Python; Networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP); Security Foundations (Identity and Access Management); cloud-specific patterns and technologies; DevOps practices; Container technologies, and Data stores
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts to simple business language. Must have a continuous improvement mind-set and develop self and others to improve performance.
