IT Business Analyst
Location: Dearborn, MI/ Hybrid
Duration: 12 Months
Position Description:
We are looking for a Business Analyst to design and develop product concepts and specifications that reflect the customer’s needs aligning with technical and business requirements
One of the key focus areas is to ensure robust management of supply chain risk and assurance of supply to ensure demand for our world-leading products can be met optimally.
As part of the transformation, we have initiated multiple IT system development projects to support strategic business initiatives in various business units.
Plans and conducts customer research to gather data and Client problems through user and stakeholder interviews
Validates researched data to bring leading indicators in focus, allowing the team to actively analyze, synthesize and determine valuable product/service options
Iteratively hypothesizes and discovers new opportunities for the customer’s needs/desires, aligning with business objectives and technical standards
Seeks continuous feedback, emphasizing the importance of research-driven product decisions
Engages with the Product Owner and team to prioritize and define product strategy and roadmaps
Collaborate with vendors to design, develop, document, and maintain software prototypes
Collaborate with external and internal technical peers (Product Managers, Product Designers, Software Engineers, Architects, and vendors) to design and validate technical approaches and designs
Contribute to maintaining a readied backlog and enable the team to go further with effective usage of Rally/Jira
Collaborates with Business Customers, Product Owners, Product Managers and document the Features, User Stories, Test Cases, etc.
Utilize and advocate the use of agile methodologies to meet stakeholder requirements
Skills Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of gathering and analyzing requirements and designing software prototypes to support product development
2+ working experience years with cross-functional teams where you utilized good communication and collaboration skills
You have produced research assets (journey maps, affinity walls, empathy maps, storyboards, personas, etc.) to capture learning and communicate the immersive customer experience with the team and other stakeholders
Conveys design requirements and specification details to the team
Ability to document detailed features and user stories with acceptance criteria
Ability to create test cases including edge cases based on user stories
Skills Preferred:
Understands design principles and tools
Uses UI/UX design practices to advocate for the customer and help the team evolve the product
Engages in and provides a design perspective for cross-product integrated experiences
Ensures a cohesive design within product groups and platforms by adhering to the Client Design System running usability tests, creating open feedback forums, etc.
Communicates how the design incorporates both customer and business value
Experience with business domains Purchasing, MP&L, and Product Development will be considered a plus
High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work autonomously
Knowledge about API design standards, patterns, and best practices to create robustly and performing integrated systems
Good team player and encourages team learning opportunities like Design Thinking
Experience in cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, AWS
Experience Required:
5+ years of gathering and analyzing requirements and designing software prototypes to support product development
2+ working experience years with cross-functional teams where you utilized good communication and collaboration skills
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
