About the Role:
The IT business analyst contributes to NYSTEC’s continued growth and success through their commitment to innovation and by implementing standard operating processes for improved efficiency and productivity. This position will collaborate with stakeholders across business units (finance, business development, human resources, IT, information security, etc.) to develop, document, and analyze operational processes while communicating effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manager with IT operational efforts.
- Develop project plans for IT operational efforts.
- Plan and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to elicit end user and business needs.
- Create formal documentation, including business requirements, technical requirements, current-state and to-be process flow diagrams, decision trees, and mind maps.
- Perform gap analyses between as-is and to-be states.
- Liaise with all departments within the company on various aspects of business requirements and necessary clarifications.
- Convene internal stakeholder groups to inform current-state documentation.
- Develop models and process flows to inform process development and implementation.
- Create user guides and training materials for processes.
- Analyze and interpret reports of a help desk ticketing system to identify processes and procedures suitable for review and/or improvement.
- Monitor and update process documentation at a regular cadence.
- Deliver user training on operational processes (live or recorded).
- Develop Microsoft PowerPoint presentations to provide updates to internal stakeholders.
About You:
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge and application: Develops professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Determines a course of action based on guidelines and modifies processes and methods as required.
- Complexity and problem solving: Works on problems of moderate scope, which are often varied and routine, where the analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Applies learned techniques and contributes to analysis and investigation to solve problems. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
- Collaboration and interaction: Builds productive internal/external working relationships to resolve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures or transactions. Focuses on providing standard professional advice and creating initial reports/analyses for review by experienced team professionals.
- Knowledge of or familiarity with the function of an IT service or help desk.
- Knowledge of or familiarity with project and change management practices.
- Knowledge of or familiarity with the system development life cycle.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Strong documentation and critical thinking skills.
- Understands NYSTEC’s mission, brand mindsets, and core values and can put the behaviors into practice.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience as a business or system analyst working on organizational operations. An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
The pay range for this position is $69,385.00 to $95,405.20 per year.
