Our Audit practice is growing and looking for a professional to join our team as an Intern . At Mazars, we pride ourselves on building long-lasting relationships with our teams, clients, and the community.
This is a national practice and we offer flexible work hours and locations: in office and hybrid.
Start Date: May - August 2024
What You Will Do:
Client Servicing
Perform Risk Assurance and IT Advisory engagements, including:
o SOC 1 and 2 readiness assessments and examinations
o IT Audits
o Internal Audit Support
o HITRUST
o SOX, and/or
o Other risk and compliance assurance and advisory services.
Support the day-to-day activities associated with the client experience, including supporting senior team members in communications with clients, performing detailed internal controls testing in accordance with various frameworks, and helping to support our junior offshore team members in controls testing.
Demonstrate proficiency in advisory and auditing skills, and knowledge of business operations, IT processes, and internal controls.
Present and communicate status and issues to project team and client personnel.
Understand the key sectors that Risk Consulting operates in and recognizes key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technologies to build client and institutional knowledge.
Project Management
Complete tasks within scope through effective time management and be able to report and articulate status to the project team
Willingness to learn and demonstrate understanding of the project objectives , project planning and budget management.
Recognize, communicate, research, and participate in resolution of engagement issues/challenges as they arise.
Perform careful self-review of work to ensure individual quality control, and when in doubt, able to confidently articulate areas that require further support.
Demonstrate effective project and time management skills for handling multiple priorities and simultaneous projects.
Professional Growth
Demonstrate a willingness to learn the various industries we operate in, which include but not limited to: Financial Services, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Real
Estate and Manufacturing & Distribution.
Demonstrate a willingness to learn of Risk Consulting offerings and tools required by the professional services delivered.
Develop and maintain expertise in technical and industry areas.
Demonstrate an interest to collaborate and work cross functionally throughout the various Consulting lines of business to increase skillsets and promote a one-team culture.
Maintain ongoing CPE requirements and development.
What We Seek: The ideal candidate for this role will be participating in a co-op program and have availability to work full time.
Education required : Actively working towards Bachelor or Masters degree in Accounting with strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
Certification requirement : Eligible to sit for the CPA exam; Undergraduate or graduate degree/ Meet all educational requirements to satisfy the 150-credit hour requirement necessary for the CPA license in the state in which your office will be located .
Active involvement in organizations (volunteering or campus related)
Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
Motivated in order to meet client deadlines and provide excellent service to clients
Motivated to work as part of a team and build constructive working relationships
Able to operate in a paperless workplace and proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Knowledge of ProSystem FX or other accounting programs a plus
Ability to travel to client locations as needed

The salary range for this role takes into account many factors including, but not limited to, years and type of experience, skill sets, and certifications. The projected salary range for this position is $30 an hour
