JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for implementation, documentation, training support, design, coding, testing, maintaining applications and data interfaces of any complexity in a multi-vendor environment of the Hospital Information System by using HL7/XML standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience in computer science and/or management information systems.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in system programming and interface development. Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software, including Microsoft SQL Server administration and TSQL programming. Must have experience with building HL7 interfaces. Experience within healthcare is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to troubleshoot problems that occur in multi-step SQL Server processes.
- Ability to write HL7/XML language within interface engine.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience interfacing with various applications, management information systems, data structures, systems analysis and design, and programming languages.
- Demonstrated communication (verbal/written), customer service and organizational skills required to complete assignments and meet job demands.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required.
- Ability to perform complex, detailed design and analytical tasks and ability to organize and implement work assignments independently of direct supervision
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems, provide guidance and instruction to customers, write clearly and concisely, interact with customers of varying levels of expertise as well as the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills required.
- Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects with ability to multitask and prioritize high priority projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills for design, creation and test of programs. Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
