Summary: The IS Clinical Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality education using the ADDIE Model (Analysis, Development, Design, Implementation, and Evaluation) for assigned enterprise-wide clinical health applications/programs. This role involves developing education materials, facilitating training sessions (in-person or remotely via virtual meeting technology), and supporting system use and adoption on-site. The Specialist works closely with application/project teams, Subject Matter Experts, and Training Specialists to understand workflows and training needs. Additionally, this role trains other trainers and super users on system functionality and workflows, ensuring effective onboarding and ongoing training for staff on EHR functionality and new applications.
Major Function:
- Deliver high-quality education using the ADDIE Model for clinical health applications/programs.
- Develop educational materials and facilitate training sessions both in-person and remotely.
- Support system use and adoption on-site at facilities.
- Serve as a liaison between application/project teams, Subject Matter Experts, and Training Specialists.
- Train other trainers and super users on system functionality and workflows.
- Train onboarding staff on EHR functionality and workflows, and existing staff on new functionality or applications.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or a related area.
- Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Informatics, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in developing and delivering professional education and/or instructional design with program facilitation in hospital and ambulatory settings.
- Proven experience in project management, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Minimum of six months of healthcare industry experience, with clinical experience utilizing health information systems preferred.
- Minimum of six months of classroom training experience.
- Minimum of six months of tutoring, training, or coaching experience.
- Experience with Oracle Cerner EHR preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- Registered Nurse preferred.

Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate training projects for nursing, physicians, and other clinicians related to Clinical Information Systems, ensuring hands-on learning experiences.
- Design, develop, and implement a variety of training delivery methods, including classroom, web-based, and blended approaches.
- Develop and administer 'train-the-trainer' programs to ensure trainers and super users are proficient in system functionality and workflows.
- Act as a consultant and facilitator to help various projects and departments meet their training goals and requirements.
- Promote and manage IS systems/applications education programs for health system staff, including scheduling and securing training resources.
- Evaluate participant feedback from training programs and adjust training materials and methods accordingly.
- Maintain and update training materials, including manuals, tip sheets, guides, and demo videos to reflect current functionality and workflows.
- Collaborate with the IS Training Coordinator to create and manage web-based training content and ensure timely responses to assistance requests.
- Maintain the EHR Train Domain, ensuring it is current, functional, and suitable for delivering training exercises and demonstrations.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of IS Education and other stakeholders through regular updates and reports on training activities and outcomes.
