About the Job
The Irrigation Service Manager will be responsible for leading the irrigation technicians. You will oversee day-to-day operations of the Irrigation Service Department as well as manage production. You will help build an effective production team by developing employees and working with them to build and support a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain discipline and high standards for the efficient and professional operation of the department.
- Ability to maintain budget control.
- Possess time, personnel, and organizational management skills.
- Establish departmental goals.
- Attention to detail in monitoring all contractual and enhancement responsibilities and goals.
- Review and evaluate methods and procedures for safety and efficiency.
- Accurately analyze, diagnose, and correct problems as they are recognized.
- Effectively communicate and provide professional advice to AM’s, Operations Manager, and customers.
- Work with AM’s and Operations Manager to achieve monthly/yearly maintenance and enhancement goals.
- Provide proposals for enhancement opportunities as requested by AM’s.
- Develop and implement maintenance records to facilitate and prioritize future maintenance activities.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and direct irrigation enhancement operations daily ensuring deadlines are achieved in a safe, efficient manner.
- Daily “in the field” follow up on properties related to completed work, scheduled work, and/or identification of new sales opportunities.
- Daily support of irrigation technicians through phone calls, texts, and on-site visits.
- Review and submit all daily labor hours specific to irrigation technician, job, and scope.
- Review and submit all enhancement billing on a weekly basis.
- Maintain proper department inventory and update inventory pricing on a regular basis.
- Maintain up to date information related to customer gain/loss so the proper scope is completed.
- Develop and maintain status as a Subject Matter Expert in the irrigation field.
- Maintain professional experience and expectation related to industry innovation and technology.
- Provide/coordinate staff training related to the department.
- Conduct performance evaluations with irrigation technicians.
- Implement discipline procedures as established by the HR department.
- Interview and hire potential candidates to be irrigation technicians.
- Practice company safety behaviors at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3 years minimum irrigation service work experience.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years' of experience in management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
