About the Job
We are seeking a IRA & Tax Reporting Specialist for the Operations Support Regulatory Reporting Department.
The IRA & Tax Reporting Specialist performs many tasks within the Regulatory Reporting unit. There are three main areas of focus for this role. 1) The IRA & Tax Reporting Specialist is expected to have the knowledge to review/research/correct IRA transactions and Tier 3 escalation matters. 2) This role assists in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of IRS tax forms (1099-INT, 1099-R, 1099-Q, 5498, 5498ESA, FMV, 1042S & 1099-C) to members and the IRS. 3) Perform the tasks necessary for the annual escheatment of shares, negotiable items, and safe deposit boxes. Additionally, the IRA & Tax Reporting Specialist is responsible for processing W8-BEN recertification, CP2100 verification, W-9 exceptions, and the remittance and IRS reporting of backup and federal withholding payments.

Highlights:
- Review accounts and identify departments to review charged-off loans and/or credit cards to determine if offset of funds is allowed
- Provide member information needed to obtain affidavits for lost items
- Remit inventory list(s) to State and in collaboration with CCA, remit contents when requested
- Responsible for processing the CP2100 report sending the appropriate “B” notice and letter to members, initiating backup withholding and tracking returned responses
- 1099-INT, 1099-R, 5498 and 5498ESA - Perform quality check on a sampling of tax forms generated by third party provider ensuring the correct information is populated in the appropriate fields
Experience:
Required
- Minimum one year of experience with a financial institution
Preferred
- Experience with Symitar, Synapsys, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Bilingual
Education:
Required
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
Skills & Knowledge:
Required
- Computer Skills to include MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Access
- Knowledgeable with IRAs
- Knowledgeable with Tax Forms/Reporting
- Ability to use mathematical calculations (multiplication, division, percentage)
