Arnold & Porter is seeking a senior-level staff attorney to join the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group in our Washington, DC office.
The Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group is made up of approximately 100 attorneys who advise clients along the life cycle of their most important assets—spanning patents, copyrights, trademarks, rights of publicity, trade secrets, and related issues. Our Patent Litigation team combines proven trial and appellate experience, strategic approaches, and technological knowledge to enforce and defend our clients' patent rights, particularly in the life sciences and technology industries.
Ideal applicants for this position would have a minimum of six years of post-grant proceedings experience, as well as a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field of study. Admission to practice before the USPTO is required. Patent litigation experience before the PTAB is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed. The candidate will engage in invalidity analysis of patents and prior art; will draft IPR/PGR petitions and legal and technical arguments/briefing; work with experts and prepare expert testimony; conduct and defend expert depositions; oral advocacy before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Applicants must currently be licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in the jurisdiction(s) where they apply.
The salary range for this position in Washington, DC is $135,000 to $195,000, commensurate with experience.
