IP Litigation Associate - Vanguard-IP

REQUIREMENTS

• Commercial litigation experience.

• Excellent academic record with law review, moot court, or journal experience as a bonus.

• They are in court; a federal clerkship or externship will be helpful.

• Genuinely interested in technology and the tech industry.

• A commitment to excellence.

• A willingness to burn the midnight oil when needed.

A technical degree and patent bar are not required for this position, although familiarity with tech and the tech industry is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a unique opportunity to work with leading attorneys on high-stakes intellectual property litigation. They are seeking an experienced associate attorney to work on IP matters including patent, antitrust, trade secret, trademark, and copyright. This attorney will work directly with the partners and will immediately receive as much responsibility as they can handle.

Essential Functions:

• Preparing pleadings, engaging in dispositive motion practice, and assisting with expert reports.

• Drafting discovery motions, preparing and responding to discovery, supervising document production and review, meet and confers with opposing counsel, and preparing for, taking, and defending depositions.

• Trial preparation including motions in limine, pretrial briefing, trial and witness prep, attendance at trial, and post-trial briefing.
