This clinician coordinates the administration of services for IOP and clients referred to the agency by the
Intoxicated Driver Resource Center (IDRC). Additionally, clinician fulfills the clinical and administrative duties required for the Adult IOP, and carries an assigned caseload of IDRC, IOP and outpatient clients with substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders. Administrative duties include consulting with county IDRC, Drug Court, ISP and other referral sources, as well as preparing reports. This individual provides evaluative services, education, crisis intervention, case management and discharge planning. Individual, group and family therapy and parent support are the core clinical duties of this position. All clinical services are offered in compliance with agency requirements for licensure, accreditation and the NJ Intoxicated Driver Program (IDP).
Responsibilities:- Attends mandatory IDP/IDRC meetings as a representative of the agency.
- Complies with necessary documentation for all administrative aspects of the agency contract with the state IDP and county IDRC’s.
- Provides the intervention-oriented psycho-therapeutic-didactic group in compliance with the requirements of the agency IDRC Affiliation Agreement.
- Offers all clinical aspects of the Adult IOP, and referral source consultations.
- Carries a caseload of 18-20 IDRC, IOP and/or Outpatient clients who receive individual sessions.
- Provides conjoint and/or family sessions on an as-needed basis.
- Offers Family and Friends Group for loved ones of IOP participants.
- Complies with necessary documentation for all administrative aspects of IDRC and the adult IOP including monthly client progress reports.
- Assessing the counseling needs of the clients.
- Assessing clients using the ASI or other standardized clinical interview tool, and diagnosing clients for substance use disorder using the DSM-5.
- Determining the appropriate level of care according to ASAM Criteria.
- This position is substance abuse specific and requires the expertise of a clinician trained and experienced in substance abuse treatment.
- Minimum of an Master’s Degree is required, accompanied by LCADC/CADC licensure or eligibility who will be supervised by either a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) or LCADC .
- NJ licensure LAC/LPC, LSW/ LCSW or eligibility is preferred.
- Counselor needs to possess competency skills in individual and group therapy.
- Other required skills include being able to conduct a diagnostic drug and alcohol evaluation toward the development of a relevant treatment plan.
- Also needed is the ability to speak and write in a clear and concise manner.
- Additionally, this position requires an individual, who is a good team player.
- Demonstration of a high level of cultural competence, sensitivity and responsiveness is also necessary.
