Job Description:
Does playing a major role in a well-established company that’s in the middle of transitioning to the digital space get your blood flowing? The types of projects being undertaken would be described by some as excavation, but where we take what we find would be driven by you, the Technical Project Manager. Does that 20-year-old nightly process hold value any more, or should it be broken down and rewritten from scratch? Some stakeholders feel one way, others completely different. If that sort of challenge is something you crave and you have experience in the financial world, we may have a lot to talk about.
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the management and completion of projects within the Information Technology department. An essential team member, a primary function of this role is communication with all different pieces of the business. Being able to break down deep technical questions in to manageable pieces, get answers and bring them back to the engineering team is an absolute must. In a similar vein, being cognizant of what is important to a team member and what needs to be communicated to Executive Management to keep everyone informed is this role’s responsibility. Not only must you be able to communicate and speak to every aspect of your project at any given time, you must be able to manage all of the moving pieces without skipping a beat, often while traversing unforeseen obstacles along the way. Think of yourself as India Jones, except your whip is replaced with a laptop. But as a team motivator, sometimes that whip comes in handy.
