Job: Investment Accountant - Financial Reporting

Location: Boston or Springfield MA (Hybrid) 

Salary: $120K-$160K + 20% Bonus 

Overview:

Join our dynamic team as an Investment Accountant specializing in Financial Reporting. This role offers the opportunity to be a key player in a collaborative and inclusive environment, working closely with Investment Management and reporting directly to the Director of Alternative Investments.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and promote a collaborative and inclusive culture within the Investment Management team.

- Actively participate in the implementation of the company’s new ledger.

- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles.

- Identify and implement accounting improvements to enhance business value and team efficiency.

- Initiate and lead complex continuous improvement activities.

- Engage in problem-solving to improve quality, cycle times, efficiencies, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction within the Investment Controllership team.

- Make recommendations to continuously improve the overall control environment of the Investment Controllership team.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- 6+ years of relevant work experience with a proven track record of increasing responsibility.

- Financial reporting experience in alternative investments.

- 8+ years of related work experience (total).

- CPA preferred.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data sets and effectively communicate findings.

- Proven ability to complete high-quality work efficiently and gain increased autonomy over time.

- Experience analyzing new investments and applying accounting guidance to drive investment accounting and reporting across the company and subsidiaries.

- Experience with system implementations is a plus.

- Strong relationship-building skills across cross-functional groups.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively to leadership, staff, and regulatory bodies.

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and agile environment while leading a team in executing various priorities and deliverables.

- Intellectual curiosity and a continuous learning mindset to deepen understanding.

**Preference:**

While there is a strong preference for candidates based in Springfield due to proximity to the Director of Alternative Investments, candidates in Boston are also encouraged to apply. The Investment Controllership team is expanding in all locations.
