Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records and optimizing our inventory management processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite. The successful applicant will possess excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, along with effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The Inventory Specialist will be instrumental in maintaining optimal stock levels, reducing carrying costs, and ensuring smooth operations throughout our supply chain.
Responsibilities:- Receive incoming shipments, verify their contents, and inspect for any damages or discrepancies.
- Utilize inventory management software to accurately track received items, update stock levels, and analyze data.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling items for shipment.
- Coordinate with carriers and schedule pickups or deliveries to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
- Ensure all shipping and receiving documentation is complete and accurate, including bills of lading, packing slips, and delivery receipts.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse, ensuring proper storage and organization of inventory.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies between physical stock and system records as well as identifying shortages or overstocks.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to resolve any issues related to shipments or inventory
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize shipping and receiving operations.
- Prepare and analyze inventory reports to inform decision-making.
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures and policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management efficiency and reduce costs.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience; Associate’s degree in logistics or supply chain management or similar is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in shipping and receiving operations
- Warehouse experience
- Customer Service experience
- Strong knowledge of logistics and inventory management principles.
- Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting information.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as operate material handling equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. NetSuite or any ERP System knowledge would be a plus.
