We are currently seeking an Inventory Specialist to provide services in Hines, IL. All services will take place at 5th Ave. and Roosevelt Rd., Building 37 NW Dock 18, Hines, IL 69141.
The following criteria are required to be considered for this position.
JOB SUMMARY
Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP): The CMOP supports all fifty states, Washington D. C., Puerto Rico, and US Territories and processes over 130 million prescriptions per year and individual CMOP’s mail out approximately 515,000 prescriptions per day, with approximately 330,000 Veteran patients served per day. The CMOP utilizes a combination of automated and manual procedures to prepare and dispense Over The Counter (OTC) and legend drug prescriptions, controlled substance prescriptions, bulk type prescriptions, and medical/surgical products directly by mail to patients. The nature of services includes the operation and support of automated and manual filling equipment, and the preparation of prescription orders for mail-out dispensing.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Performs tasks related to the movement, restocking and accounting of items stored in various locations. Responsibilities can include compiling and maintaining records, identifying types of supplies, and suggesting re-order points for revolving stock.
- Maintains inventories of drugs and supplies, stocking shelves, rotating stock, and checking expiration date of pharmaceuticals.
- Fills/stocks medications in various automated devices and storage locations.
- Operates various types of pharmacy automation, including, but not limited to, Autofill devices; Baker Cells; Kalish cells, A-frames; repackaging equipment; electronic scales.
- Read computer screens, use scanning equipment, select specific drugs/products required to fill an order by name, strength, and National Drug Code (NDC) number.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School (HS) or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Four years of experience
- Must be able to understand how to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Have basic typing and PC computer skills.
- Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when required; push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time (8-10 hours), stoop, reach upward and withstand various types of repetitive motion inherent in the various tasks to be performed.
