What you will be doing:
- Utilizes advanced forecasting tools and historical data to predict product demand accurately.
- Devises and implements strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce excess stock and minimize carrying costs.
- Fosters strong collaboration with procurement, production, and sales teams to align inventory with demand forecasts.
- Place timely and effective purchase orders with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Conducts in-depth analysis of inventory data, identifying trends, forecast accuracy and areas for enhancement.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of inventory planning processes.
- Designs inventory strategies that balance the composition of new and core, carry-over merchandise, support in-stock and turn objectives, and fit within the bounds of departmental receipt budget.
- Determines item level order quantities and flow strategies to ensure product availability.
- Partners with Supply Chain Analyst to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchase orders.
- Leverages historical data to identify key insights regarding product, pricing, and inventory, and apply the insights to future seasons.
- Reviews and determines appropriate presentation minimums and safety stock requirements.
- Owns monthly forecasting of department level open-to-buy and recommends near-term actions to achieve sales goals and budgeted inventory EOMs
What you will need:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in inventory planning or a related role.
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or a relevant field preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in cutting-edge data analysis tools
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse departments.
- Experience in Digital vertical retail preferred.
- Exceptional organizational abilities, managing multiple tasks with precision.
- Proficiency in state-of-the-art inventory management software; familiarity with ERP systems is advantageous.
- Ability to objectively interpret data and extract actionable insights to drive the business operation.
- Proficiency in retail math formulas and calculations.
- Proficient in managing a traditional open-to-buy operation.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills. Comfortable addressing all levels of employees within the organization.
- Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities.
