Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to manage and optimize the inventory processes for our residential and multifamily divisions. The successful candidate will play a key role in transitioning our inventory management to a system-based process and working closely with our ERP implementation team. This is a dynamic role that will evolve as the company migrates to new systems and processes, offering significant opportunities for growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Analysis:
- Oversee the analysis and tracking of inventory across multiple divisions, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC materials.
- Conduct regular reviews of inventory levels, ensuring alignment between expenses, usage, and balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze top inventory items and perform monthly reviews of the top 20 items across divisions, with deeper quarterly analysis of the top 5.
- Collaborate with division managers to ensure accuracy and consistency in inventory tracking and reporting.
ERP Implementation Support:
- Act as a key contributor in the transition to the Dynamics 365 ERP system, with a focus on the inventory module.
- Work closely with the D365 team to implement real-time tracking of inventory, streamlining current manual processes.
- Assist in defining and setting up material items, pricing, and tracking methods within the new ERP system.
Cost Management & Optimization:
- Monitor and manage inventory costs, ensuring optimal stock levels while controlling expenses.
- Identify and address any discrepancies or unusual spikes in inventory usage, coordinating with division managers for resolution.
- Provide recommendations for improving the current inventory process, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
Reporting & Forecasting
- Create and maintain detailed inventory reports, providing visibility into stock levels, usage patterns, and cost trends.
- Assist with developing monthly KPIs and metrics for division reporting.
- Support quarter-end inventory analysis and provide insights to senior management on any discrepancies or issues.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Collaborate with warehouse managers, division managers, and purchasing teams to ensure accurate physical counts and proper handling of inventory.
- Assist in the development of streamlined processes between purchasing and AP to enhance inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding inventory management.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain, or a related analytical role.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in construction, particularly in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC industries preferred, but not required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets and provide actionable insights.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP platforms, with experience in Dynamics 365 being a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to travel up to 10-20% to various divisions for inventory audits and process evaluations.
