GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Inventory Control Specialist is a critical member of our team. This core, year-round position is responsible for effectively cycle counting raw material, work in process, and finished goods inventory, at ground and elevated levels in the warehouse, shipping and production areas. This function serves as both a measure and corrective action for maintaining high inventory record accuracy. This position further aids and enhances our scheduling and inventory management functions by correctly reflecting the right inventory levels in the facility at all times.
CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manages and completes weekly physical inventory counts and/or cycle counts in order to maintain accurate perpetual inventory within the Production and Paper Departments.
• Primary goal is to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and integrity through proper counts and investigations.
• Inventory control specialist will work closely with Distribution Manager to assign all inventories to the right “ABC” classification and adhere to the defined schedule.
• Ensures cycle counts are completed on schedule.
• Adheres to cycle counting procedures and guidelines.
• Research discrepancies between physical and system count.
• Maintains count records and data files.
• Prepares daily reports from Cycle counts to help with planning if there are any discrepancies.
• Tracks and reports non-conforming product.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• May be required to operate a forklift, upon receiving forklift certification.
• Responsible for answering customer service, warehouse, production and engineering inquiries in a timely manner.
• Supporting plant teams with periodic physical inventory counts as required by the business.
• Proactively checks inventories are being utilized in a FIFO format to ensure proper rotation is being achieved.
• Assist in updating dims and weights for all materials in existing and future ERP system as required
• Must be detail oriented and have strong verbal and written skills
• Must have experience in excel and ERP systems
• Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

• Proven experience in a similar position preferred
