Position Summary:
The International Tax Manager manages the international income and transfer pricing compliance for the company, assists in review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated income tax provision, and is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing the team.
Responsibilities:- Overseeing the preparation and reviewing of the international components of the consolidated US Federal return, which is prepared by a third-party consultant and includes detailed information reporting for operations in approximately 70 countries. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Oversees the preparation of:
- GILTI;
- FDII;
- BEAT;
- IRC Section 163(j);
- FTC utilization and basketing;
- E&P, including associated tax pools; and
- Forms 5471, 8858, 1118, and 8975.
- Oversees the preparation of:
- Manages, reviews, and/or prepares the international components of the income tax provisions, including, but not limited to:
- Calculation of the US foreign income tax implications to be reported in our quarterly Securities and Exchange Commission filings;
- Book-tax differences, including but not limited to GILTI, FDII, 163(j);
- Pillar Two;
- Tax credits, including the US FTC;
- Tax technical memos;
- Deferred income tax analyses and proofs;
- return to provision analyses;
- Assists in the maintenance of Sarbanes–Oxley tax documentation and compliance;
- Technical analyses; and
- Coordination with other Crawford Tax Team members, finance, international finance, operations, and external advisors and auditors.
- Manage and review international income tax provision(s) and related calculation(s) in accordance with our internal controls framework. This includes but is not limited to the preparation and/or review of:
- International tax packages,
- Return to provisions,
- Deferred tax asset realizability models,
- Uncertain tax position analyses, and
- Provision computations and analysis in OneSource Tax Provision.
- Manages the transfer pricing compliance function, including but not limited to:
- develops and maintains annual master files, local files, and associated forms and filings globally, and ensures timely compliance;
- oversees the preparation and filing of country-by-country notifications;
- oversees the preparation and reviews the annual Form 8975; and
- supports transfer pricing audits and competent authority proceedings on an as-needed basis.
- Assists with the international income tax compliance and statutory reporting collection process as needed, including the following:
- Coordinates and oversees international tax compliance for operations in approximately 70 countries in accordance with the global tax compliance calendar.
- Assists in audit defense and is responsible for:
- Assisting with tax authority inquiries and related audit settlements and other negotiations; and
- Representing the Company in front of tax authorities.
- Manages earnings & profits and tax basis calculations and is responsible for the:
- Preparation and maintenance of E&P and inside and outside tax basis calculations for entities in approximately 70 countries.
- Assists with Tax Department special projects on an as-needed basis.
- Trains and develops members of the Tax Department and works with peers to maintain a positive team atmosphere.
- Collaborates with the off-shore tax function.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, required; and
- Master of Taxation or Accounting, required.
- CPA required
- Minimum 5 years of corporate tax experience
- Big 4 public accounting experience required
- Experience with UK, Canadian, and Australian tax regimes, preferred
- OneSource Income Tax experience, preferred
- OneSource Tax Provision experience, preferred
- Strong income tax technical skills and base of accounting skills, required
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication, people, project management, and organizational skills, required
- Leadership skills, presence, and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and with various tax authorities, required
- Supervisory and project management experience, required
- Includes some levels of domestic and international travel, as needed
- CPA required and certification should be maintained via ongoing CPE
- Masters in Taxation or Accounting required
- Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services
- Extensive knowledge of GILTI, FDII, FTCs, BEAT, and 163(j) required
- Extensive knowledge of US income tax reporting on Forms 8858, 5471, 1118, and 8975 required
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, effectively prioritize, manage others, and meet deadlines
- Highly motivated, creative, articulate, results-oriented
- Ability to grow and change with the organization
- Flexible and able to operate in fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong technical tax skills, in particular for multinational publicly traded corporations
- Experience in identifying tax planning opportunities and risks
- Able to influence and negotiate, both internally and externally
- Ability to work in an organized, detailed manner under tight deadlines
- Ability to grasp complex issues quickly
- Outstanding communication skills, ability to present complex tax information in simple terms
- Strong team building and people development skills
- Ability to research, read, and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings required
