About the Job
Maximus is currently hiring for an International Claimant Appointment Packet Specialist to join our Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team. This is a temporarily remote opportunity that will transfer to onsite in Houston, TX once the VES mail room is fully completed. The International Claimant Appointment Packet Specialist (Int'l CAPS) is responsible for sending and printing veteran appointment letters and generating shipping labels to be sent out to veterans by mail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Send Claimant Appointment Packets via e- mail, FedEx, or USPS express mail; - Respond to veteran/service member communication resulting from CAPS when appropriate; - Inform the team and/or manager when veteran/service member communication requires their attention; and - Document and maintain detailed notes of communication and CAPS information in OMS. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: - Follow established guidelines on how documents are to be sent to veterans/service members; - Monitor the international pending CAP list in OMS to endure compliance is met for notification of exams; and - Other duties assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Self- Motivated; - Self- Directed; - Strong ability for strategical thinking and planning; - High sense of urgency; - Strong ability to get results; - Advanced time management skills and detail- oriented; with strong ability to meet strict deadlines with minimal supervision; - Advanced customer service and sales skills; - Advanced verbal and written communication skills, to include excellent grammar; - Advanced reading and comprehension abilities; - Advanced multi- tasking skills; - Advanced organizational and prioritization skills, - Proficient with Google Maps; and - Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, general internet research, and beginner knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must live in or near Houston, TX
- Ability to work onsite in the Houston, TX VES mail room
- Ability to commit to a training schedule of 8:00am - 4:30pm CT Monday - Friday required
- Ability to work a schedule between the hours of 8:00am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday required
- UPS or USPS experience preferred
- Mailing or shipping experience preferred
- VES experience highly preferred

- Preferred Windows or Mac (no Chromebooks)
- OS for Windows - Windows 10 or newer
- OS for Mac - Big Sur (11.0.1+); Catalina (10.15); MacOS (up to 12.5) or newer
- Connectivity to the internet via either Wi-Fi or Category 5 or 6 ethernet patch cable to the home router
- USB plug and play wired headset with a microphone and noise suppression
- Private work area and adequate power source
- A second monitor is highly recommended for most positions
- Must currently and permanently reside in the Continental US

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
