The Internal & Ethics Investigator I will manage and resolve issues related to employee misconduct, data privacy incidents, theft, and/or policy violations. An Internal & Ethics Investigator interfaces and builds strong partnerships with Human Resources, Legal, Corporate Security, and line of business leaders. The Internal & Ethics Investigator I upholds the Bank’s risk management and Ethics Policy framework by ensuring that risks are identified, debated, escalated and managed as appropriate. An Internal & Ethics Investigator must be able to comply with all organizational and professional ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Investigates non-complex to moderate level allegations of employee policy and procedure violations or unethical conduct.
· Coordinates and conducts a broad range of interactive fact finding, basic interviewing and observing.
· Gathers and reviews sources of evidence such as documents, electronic records and logs, and video and audio recordings.
· Summarizes investigative findings, makes determinations and recommendations for resolution.
· Accurately articulate the circumstances and events of the investigation, both verbally and in writing to various levels of management and HR partners.

· Successfully handle non-complex to moderate level investigations with minimal direction, while keeping Internal & Ethics Investigations Manager informed.

· Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to effectively interact with all levels within an organization, law enforcement, legal counsel and government officials, as well as the ability to create and summarize detailed written reports.

· Strong interpersonal, listening, and interviewing skills with the ability to confront and address sensitive topics while maintaining a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact.
· Strong problem solving and investigatory skills; ability to objectively identify, assess, resolve, and mitigate risk while ensuring optimal results or outcomes are achieved.
· Demonstrated ability to drive results through individual efforts and influencing others, without authority over them.
· Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and achieve conclusions in a timely manner; work independently while supporting a team environment.
· Ability to prioritize in the face of competing priorities, interruptions, and distractions.
· Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking and employment policies, procedures, laws and regulations as they related to risk management.
· Developed critical thinking skills, decision making and analytical skills.
· High level of integrity and objectivity to ensure proper results are obtained.
· Strong data presentation skills using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other applications; ability to navigate Internal Investigations software applications (i.e., Accruint, CommandClient) and related websites.
Qualifications
· 1+ years’ experience in investigations, employee relations, financial crimes, or risk management role where main duties encompass analyzation and/or assessment of risk, while maintaining a high-volume caseload required.
· Banking or financial services experience preferred.
Formal Education & Certification:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, business administration, risk management, human resources, or related field preferred.
Work Status:
· Full-Time.
Supervisory Responsibility:
· None.
Travel:
· Up to 10% travel expected.
Working Conditions:
· Conditions involve lifting no more than ten pounds, sitting most of the time, but may involve walking, moving, or standing for brief periods, and occasionally lifting and carrying articles like files, ledgers, folders, etc.
